Licon Studio

About the studio

Hi, I’m Hugo.

I’m Hugo Licon, an engineer who can’t leave a small annoyance alone. When something in my day is slower, clunkier or more confusing than it should be, I usually end up building the fix.

That’s how most of these apps began: checking the exchange rate without a page that reloads every time, knowing my electricity bill before it arrives, splitting a shared card between two people. Licon Studio is where those fixes live, polished until they’re good enough to share.

I care about the details you only notice when they’re missing, and I’d rather make one thing that works beautifully than ten that almost do.

How I build

Four principles every app is held to, before it ships and every day after.

  1. Useful

Every app starts from a real, everyday problem, and it isn’t finished until it solves that problem completely.

  2. Simple

One job per app. If something on screen doesn’t help with that job, it goes.

  3. Thoughtful

Sensible defaults, honest numbers, and your data kept on your device whenever it can be.

  4. Delightful

Fast, calm and carefully made, with small details you’d only notice if they were gone.
